JOIN THE TEAM AT TERRITORY HANDS

At Territory Hands, we’re passionate about helping people recover from hand and upper limb injuries — and equally passionate about supporting therapists to grow in their careers. Right now, we have two exciting opportunities to join our friendly Darwin-based team.

HAND THERAPIST (OT or Physio)

Full Time Permanent Therapist + Experienced Hand Therapy Locum

Come for the lifestyle and stay for the clinical growth.

We’re looking for two therapists to join us at Territory Hands in Darwin - a full time permanent therapist and an experienced locum for 3 to 6 months from July 2026

You might already be working in hand therapy, or you might be a physio or OT looking to move into this area and wanting the right support to do it well. Either way, we’d love to hear from you.

Why Darwin?

Sometimes the best career move is also a life move. Darwin offers something different. Warm weather. No long commute. Weekends exploring Litchfield or Kakadu. Fishing trips, beach sunsets, good coffee, and an easy flight to Bali, Singapore, or anywhere across Asia.

For a lot of people, moving here becomes more than just taking a job. It becomes a fresh start.

Why Territory Hands?

We’re the Northern Territory’s largest and most experienced private hand therapy team, with a strong reputation for excellent care, clinical depth, and genuine team support.

You’ll work alongside experienced therapists managing:

– trauma and post-operative rehabilitation

– complex upper limb injuries

– common hand conditions (CTS, OA, Triggers, tendinopathy)

– custom splinting

– surgeon liaison and multidisciplinary care

– outreach and FIFO services to Alice Springs

This is hand therapy with variety, challenge, and real clinical growth. We work with trauma, post-op rehab, complex upper limb injuries, custom splinting, hand conditions and have strong surgeon liaison. We also provide outreach services to Alice Springs, which adds another layer of variety and challenge.

This is not repetitive clinic work with loads of reporting. It’s interesting, practical, hands-on, high-level therapy with plenty of opportunity to grow.

What matters to us

Good therapy. Good people. A good team. We care about doing excellent work, but we also care about supporting each other.

We offer

– structured mentoring and clinical support

– weekly case discussions and collaborative learning

– professional development allowance and study leave

– support toward AHTA pathways and specialist growth

– relocation assistance and temporary accommodation support through PHN NT

– strong admin systems and a genuinely supportive team

– flexibility where possible

– the chance to build a career in a place that values both excellence and balance

For the full time role

This is ideal for someone wanting to build real depth in hand therapy. You might be early in your career and looking for strong mentoring, or you might already have experience and want a clinic where your skills can keep growing.

We support professional development, specialist pathways, and creating a career that feels sustainable and rewarding. Most of all, we’re looking for someone who cares deeply about good therapy, good people, and meaningful work.

For the locum role

If you’re an experienced therapist looking for a 3 to 6 month locum from July, this is a great chance to work somewhere unique. You’ll step into a strong team, a great caseload, and a clinic with solid systems already in place. We can help with travel, accommodation, and making the move easy.

It’s a chance for a professional change without needing a long-term commitment.

Sometimes the right opportunity is not just a new job. It’s a whole new chapter.
