HAND THERAPIST (OT or Physio)

Full Time Position

Territory Hands is a passionate and friendly team based in beautiful Darwin. Right now, we’re looking for a therapist with some experience who’s ready for your next chapter?

About Us: Territory Hands is a specialist hand therapy practice based in Darwin, with outreach services including FIFO clinics to Alice Springs.

We work closely with surgeons, GPs and allied health teams, and we care deeply about doing good work — clinically and relationally.

About You: You -

  • Have at least one year of hand therapy experience

  • Are a registered physiotherapist or occupational therapist

  • Enjoy clinical reasoning and problem-solving

  • Communicate well with surgeons and referrers

  • Value being part of a supportive team

  • Most importantly, you care about quality, you’re thoughtful in your approach, and you want to keep learning.

 What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing a varied caseload of hand, wrist and elbow conditions

  • Post-operative and trauma rehabilitation

  • Splinting (thermoplastic + prefabricated)

  • Building strong referral relationships

  • Contributing to team case discussions and clinical growth

There are also opportunities for mentoring, leadership pathways and outreach/FIFO work (if that interests you)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need to have experience to apply for this position?

Yes - stepping up in your career means you need a good foundation in hand therapy. We are wanting someone with at least one years hand therapy experience.

Why do I have to do a video application?

We want to know the ‘why’ behind your application. Why this position and workplace appeals to you. We also get a glimpse of who you are as a person and how you would potentially fit in with our team.

How long does the video application need to be?

Not a life story, but be you. A maximum of 5 minutes should be sufficient to describe why you are applying.

When will the role commence?

We are ready for a start in May,  but we are flexible and happy to discuss a later starting date should you need it.

Is the role based purely in Darwin?

We are based in Darwin however, for experienced therapists, there is the opportunity to be part of our visiting service to Alice Springs, which is adds variety and provides unique experience in a very remote area of Australia.
